Dreamweaver is not necessary to setup your online store. However it is a powerful tool for updating your sites look and feel by creating shopping cart templates and then applying them to your online storefront. Here are some carts that we recommend:

GoECart is a hosted cart solution so everything is managed  using your web browser. Dreamweaver can be used to create the design and templates but it is not necessary to operate the shopping cart.

StoreFront 6 actually installs into your Dreamweaver extensions. To create a new StoreFront site you just need to press the "import shopping cart files" button. Of course getting everything operating online is a bit more difficult.

VPASP 6 is not installable on your pc; instead it is delivered to you as a set of files and folders that you can upload and manage and customize using Dreamweaver or any other website editor.

All versions of SalesCart are tightly integrated with Dreamweaver. Like StoreFront there is a toolbar and menu options installed into your Dreamweaver interface. If you are a webmaster and will be installing shopping carts on a regular basis you will appreciate this convenience. Having the software installed in Dreamweaver is not such an advantage if you only have one site.
